Taste of Summer

The sun drips honey on my eager tongue,

As ripe peaches burst, sweet nectar flung.

A sip of lemonade, tart and bright,

Dances like sunshine on a lazy night.

The crunch of fresh cucumbers, cool and crisp,

Each bite a whisper, a summer’s lisp.

Juicy strawberries stain my fingertips red,

Their sweetness lingers long after they’re fed.

The warmth of cornbread, golden and warm,

Wraps around me like a comforting charm.
